Wiggle Visualizer | |||||||
|
If you need more control over wiggling layers the only way to see what they are doing is to draw out the wiggle path. With the Wiggle Visualizer you could get a visual representation of where the wiggling layer is going.

The Wiggle Visualizer preset gives you the ability to see how far your layer is wiggling and the frequency over 1 second. Just select a layer and wiggle the position. Then deselect that layer and double-click the WiggleVisualizer preset from the Effects & Presets tab. The preset will create a solid the size of your comp and give you a layer selector so you can choose your wiggled layer and see its path. Simply scrub through the animation just a bit to see where your layer is going.
The reason I like this so much is that I can change my wiggle values and see the results without doing doing a RAM Preview. Keywordswiggle, Video, Interactive Experience, Development, Design(Min. Version: After Effects CS3, Category: Useful things, Type: Presets (ffx)) | |||||||

Wiggle From Leader | |||
|
These two expressions create a “ follow the leader” effect. One works from the top down, the
other from the bottom up. Only use one. |

Wiggle From Previous | |||
|
This creates a “ follow the leader” effect that works from the bottom up. A follower will tag
along after the previous layer, deviating from the previous path according to the wiggle properties that are specified in the inputs. |
